Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2023-09-18

5.33.326N – 87.02.536W, tie up to a mooring in Chatham bay, Isla del Coco. It’s raining hard. This morning when we arrived here it was nice and sunny, inside the bay is pretty nice, flat ocean light breeze its just the rain.

As soon as we moored the boat we placed the pangas in the water, big bench back on the dive deck cleared the deck and off we went for the first dive of the week in Isla del coco. Guests enjoyed Chatham Bay, some say the site is like a nursery, loads of fish, an eagle ray showed up towards the end of the dive, everyone did good.

The ranger went in the water with the group then they made the park presentation and they will go in the water with the divers again in the second dive. We did only one dive in the morning hours as we made it little late to the island. Visibility was 80ft plus, water temperature is 85F, air today is 84F, cloudy skies.
