Captain’s Noon Reports – Gallant Lady – 2023-10-13

NGL is in west IslaDanzante

Clear blue sky, wind 5-7kn from south no swell building in the channel. Air temp 32C, water temp varying from 31Cat surface with thermocline 27-28C at different depths. Visibility 20mts except in thermoclines.

Yesterday evening guests arrived from Cabo at 2100 and we received them with dinner and safety briefing. Early this morning we sailed from PuertoEscondido marina towards IslaDanzante. On the (short) way, we did the lifejacket drill and had the guests prepare their gear and receive the dive safety briefing.

Checkup dive was in Divorce Bay, a shallow bay with sandy bottom and a beautiful reef full of chromies, moray eels, sergent major. All divers were ok.

The second dive we jumped on the shipwreck of the C54, an amazing minesweeper that was decommissioned and sank in front oof Isla Danante. The shipwreck is abundant with life (turtle, snappers, Mexican grunts, millions of glassfish hunted by yellow fin jacks). Guests even saw a guitar ray. The wreck also offers a lot of swim through and passages, with the bridge completely open to divers. Guests were very happy with the dive.

This afternoon we will do one dive on west side carmen island then a night dive.
