Captain’s Noon Reports – Gallant Lady – 2023-10-20

NGL is in San Raphaelito, overcast sky, flat calm and oily seas announcing the calm before the storm. Air temp 29C, water temp 30C, visibility 15-20meters

This morning we were early at Los Islotes and had the sealion colony for ourselves! Guests enjoyed that dive very much, there were so many playful sealions alongside a multitude of reef fish and visibility around 20 meters. Perfect conditions to play with the sealions.

Guest Francis told me he felt like the chewing toy of the pups, as they were nibbling on his fins and dive tank. They entered a cave that is the playground of the young ones and came up amazed by the dive. They all wanted to repeat for dive 2 so we went and this time the guides took them through the arch and along the most colorful part of the coral reef on the south eastern corner. Plenty of cheeky sealions there too, as well as parrot fish, schools of surgeon fish, big snappers, groupers, zebra eel and green moray eels.

We are now by San Rafaelito for one last dive with the sealions and hopefully the opportunity to see a seahorse on that beautiful reef in the bay of la Paz.
