Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2023-11-02

Good afternoon, everyone, NEX anchored at San Benedicto Island, 55 ft depth, 1.5 shots paid out, 10 kts NW wind and 2-3 ft SSW swell, sky 4/8.

We arrived here last night and our guests did see lots of silkys, also they had quiet night, started our ops. on time and so far we have done 2 dives. Check out dive was done in 50 ft and divers got into the water from the stern, all of them did good and there were no issues.

During dive 1 our divers saw lobsters, some white tips and a few Galapagos sharks, for dive number 2 we took them out in the inflatables and they did dive the Canyon. They saw a chevron manta, she was with them for almost the entire dive, many silver tips, white tips, tons of lobsters and plenty of reef fish.

Dive conditions are good, viz around 20 meters and water temperature is 26 Celsius. We have 2 more dives today, one will be in manta highway and for the other one we will dive lava finger. The plan is heave up anchor and head for RocaPartida after dinner.
