Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2023-12-05

Good afternoon, everyone, NEX anchored in San Benedicto, wind from NE 15 Kts and 3 ft wrapping swell.

Yesterday we finished our day with a good dive in the Canyon and we stayed the rest of the night here. This morning we did our first dive in the Boiler, strong current to WNW, high seas, and 15-20 kts, current had the boat sides to the seas and made it difficult to our guests to get on and off the skiffs. We did one dive there, and there was no marine life and we had poor viz, water temperature there was 28 Celsius.

Because of that we moved to Fondeadero and did 1 dive in the lava finger, The dive was good, and our guests did see a few mantas and turtles, viz was 12 meters and temperature 28 Celsius. Dive number 3 was done on Manta Highway, there was no current, viz was 15 meters and divers interacted with manta for around 30 minutes, they also saw a school of surgeon fish and white tips. They all surfaced happily.

The plan is to do 1 more dive here and head to Roca Partida after dinner.
