Captain’s Noon Reports – Under Sea – 2023-12-13

WX: Wind 8 to 12 kts NW, waves 1 ft NW, Swell 2 ft NNE period +9 seconds. We are in Cape Pierce, we arrived at 6:30 am, and we are sharing the spot with Rocio del Mar.

The last two dives yesterday in Roca were ok, not so good as the first dive in the morning but they got a good dive: 1 Big Yellowfin tuna, 3 dolphins, silver tips, and silkies, However, some of the guests mentioned they wanted to see Mantas, so, we came to Socorro to find them.

Today´s first dive: Cabo Pierce 08:00 hrs, it was a very quiet dive, Strong current from North to south. Wind 11 kts, sea 2 ft NE, Vis 30 ft t° 25 C, they saw two hammerheads and two mantas, but far.

Second dive: Cabo Pierce 09:30 hrs it was much better than the first dive, we got what we were looking for: Mantas. The current was much better, not so strong, North to south. Wind 10-12 kts, sea 2 ft NNE, Vis 30 – 40 ft.

The guests saw only 2 mantas, but closed., dancing, and very interactive with the divers, everybody was happy. We are going to do a third dive and then move to Punta Tosca.
