Captain’s Noon Reports – Belle Amie – 2024-01-06

Belle Amie is at the south end of San Benedicto today diving Fondeadero and Canyon. Wind is NE 10-15kts with a bit of WNW swell wrapping around. Conditions in the anchorage overall are pretty good though.

Has been mostly cloudy all day starting to clear this afternoon. Air temp 25C. Southern Sport also anchored here today. Transit south yesterday all ok, arrived around 2300 and anchored for the night last night.

The checkout dive at Fondeadero went ok. A few inexperienced divers but no major issues. There was a manta around and a few white tips. 2nd dive was at the Canyon. Several hammerheads coming in close, some silver tips and mantas cruising around as well made for a good dive.

Current was very strong, viz was good, around 20m, water temp a bit cooler this week at 25C. Planning our two afternoon dives here at the Canyon as well.

For tomorrow debating between Boiler or RP. Will depend on the plans of NUS and Southern Sport. If both are going to RP I’ll stay at Boiler for tomorrow.
