Captain’s Noon Reports – Belle Amie – 2024-01-17

Belle Amie anchored on the east side of Roca Partida today with the rock to ourselves. A bit windy this morning from the NE around 12-17kts and 3-4′ chop with a 3-5′ long period NW swell. Sky mostly cloudy. Despite the breeze, we’re sitting pretty nice at anchor.

Diving this morning has been great. Viz is a beautiful blue 30m, water temp 26C. On the first dive, we had a pod of 30 bottlenose dolphins that spent the entire dive interacting with all the divers. Every single person came up so excited, the back deck was buzzing like a beehive.

2nd dive is just finishing up and another excellent dive, this time about half the divers had some dolphin time again, but everyone said it was beautiful with big schools of yellow-fin tuna and jacks, a few silver tips around, and lots of white tips. 2 more dives this afternoon and we’ll head for San Benedicto to finish the diving tomorrow.
