I have had a lot of good dives, but today’s dive on Socorro Island was beyond amazing. We had schools of hammerhead sharks, dolphins, and many fish. However, the phenomenal experience of having a giant manta spend most of the day with us over three dives was extraordinary. During the final dive, a giant manta named Alice spent 15 minutes swimming around and over us. We were honored to have this gentle giant, very obviously taking a lot of interest in this group of swimming monkeys. The majesty of this experience defies words.
