Hello, and welcome to XoXo Gossip Whale Watching in Baja California Sur!

This week, I and eight other guests went on the Baja Ultimate Whales Trip.

One word? FANCY AF. INCREDIBLE AF. Okay, that’s a few words and acronyms, but you get what I’m saying.

The staff? The cutest. The sweetest. The loveliest.
The boat? A beauty.
The stops along the way? A dream.

The first day we saw humpback whales breaching. Tails whipped into the air and slapped into the ocean, almost as if they were saying: Hey girl, you picked the right trip!
I was so nervous I didn’t take a good enough camera, but I got such great photos. But I suppose when you have supermodel humpbacks to take photos of, it is easy. The staff was so fun and so excited to get us near them. They were showing off.

The next day? Okay, maybe we’ll see blue whales. I get it, no guarantee. Weather can be bad, the whales can be like ‘nah, no thanks’, etc. But blue whales? This is why I went on the trip. I wanted to see blue whales! Snapple facts: their hearts are the size of a small car!
We searched the high seas in Loreto. Boom! Blowholes shoot vapor into the air. Our guide told us not to get excited; they come up for air for a few minutes then deep dive for nine minutes, and who knows where they’ll end up. Well, we got so close to one of them that it was like they were a paid Blue Whale actor. They weren’t; I didn’t see their SAG union card to confirm, but damn. I was so happy. I had been dreaming of this for so long. So, so beautiful.

My heart grew the size of a small car. I was one with a Blue Whale. I was so happy.

And let me tell you, I have a fear of sharks. I have a fear of the ocean. I got to swim with a whale shark despite my fear, and the guides were so helpful. If I was on Fear Factor, I might have won the $1,000,000. So yeah, if you have any hesitation about these things. Just do it.

The guides are great. They are so helpful. It’s a dream.

I feel like I’m rambling, so I’ll end with this: I came on this trip alone. I feel like I made eight new friends on the trip but also made friends with the staff. They were incredible. If you have any hesitation to go alone… Go! You will have an adventure! You will make friends. You will be treated with such kindness from the staff, make so many new friends, and have the best time.

In conclusion. Spotted: A real good time.
