Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2024-02-11

Good afternoon, NEX at anchor in Punta Tosca,

Last two dives yesterday in the canyon were good as the first two, hammerheads (aprox 20), mantas, Galapagos…

We have some divers that are a little bit slow to get ready to dive, so this group is coming out of the water a little bit later. One of them, felt that the time after diving – have breakfast – back to the water was too short, we are the only boat around, so we adjusted the schedule to give them an extra 30 min before the third.

Weather: Cloudy, wind: NW 10-12 KTS, swell: NW 6-7 ft, we are sheltered in Punta Tosca. Underwater conditions: Vis: 20m, Temp: 25°C, Current: light current to the west.

Diving: Very good, they saw 3 mantas, one black, two chevrons, 1 hammer head (but swimming around during the whole dive), around 6 dolphins, Galapagos, many whitetips, and reef fishes. The visibility was very good.
