Captainโ€™s Noon Reports โ€“ Explorer โ€“ 2024-02-11

Good afternoon, NEX at anchor in Punta Tosca,

Last two dives yesterday in the canyon were good as the first two, hammerheads (aprox 20), mantas, Galapagosโ€ฆ

We have some divers that are a little bit slow to get ready to dive, so this group is coming out of the water a little bit later. One of them, felt that the time after diving โ€“ have breakfast โ€“ back to the water was too short, we are the only boat around, so we adjusted the schedule to give them an extra 30 min before the third.

Weather: Cloudy, wind: NW 10-12 KTS, swell: NW 6-7 ft, we are sheltered in Punta Tosca. Underwater conditions: Vis: 20m, Temp: 25ยฐC, Current: light current to the west.

Diving: Very good, they saw 3 mantas, one black, two chevrons, 1 hammer head (but swimming around during the whole dive), around 6 dolphins, Galapagos, many whitetips, and reef fishes. The visibility was very good.
