Captain’s Noon Reports – Belle Amie – 2024-02-16

19.19.646N – 110.48.896W diving Boiler today. Sun is out, air and ocean water temperatures are 75F, moderate current in the morning dives, visibility averages 80Ft, wind is doing steady 14kts NW, 2ft chops NW.

This is my seventh season in the SOCORRO ISLAND and this was the first time that we did not see mantas. First dive was slow, don’t get me wrong there were some hammerhead sharks, load od reef fish, white tip shark are always around, but no mantas….

Second dive was like a different world, at least four mantas, a big pod of dolphins, more sharks and lots more fish. Some of the guests spent loads of time with the dolphins and that alone made them happy. We are the only boat here so we are going to make two more dives and see how it goes.
