Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2024-03-07

Good afternoon, everyone. Vessel Currently at Anchor at Fondeadero.  STBD Anchor 1.5 Shackles in the water. Depth 50ft.  This morning Check dive was at 0700.  1st dive went well, guests quickly acclimatized to the environment and the equipment. 

During the 1st dive guests saw 2 Manta’s, White Tip Sharks lots of dolphins and the usual reef fish. In between dives, Mother and Calf Humpback Whales approached within 30m or so of the vessel much to the delight of the guests.

During the 2nd dive, guests again saw 2 Mantas, Lots of White and Silver Tips, in excess of 20 Hammerheads, several Tuna and 2 Tiger Sharks, 1 male and the other was unknown. 

Guests were extremely happy with what the Canyon was hiding beneath its surface. I can still hear them now, talking about it.  This afternoon we will conduct 2 more dives.
