Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2024-03-09

Good afternoon, everyone.

Yesterday we completed our 3rd dive at Punta Tosca.  Although Manta’s were present, not all Guests saw them.  The Guests who did not see the Manta’s still considered it a good dive.

We departed after dinner and arrived at Roca Partida at Sun Rise.  Weather today was a cloudy sky, Gentle NW Breeze, long 6 to 8ft NWly swell, Air Temp 22C and Sea Temp 24C.  Sea Water Vis 15 to 20m.

1st dive this morning we dropped the guests directly onto a large school of dolphins who remained with them throughout the dive. There was also 2 large Mantas.

In the shade of Partida where the current was minimal, lots of sharks were present.  White Tips predominantly followed by silver tips, lots of Smaller Sharks and 1 Galapagos.  There was an extremely large shoal of Yellow Fin Tuna, which was so big was visible from the Ship.

Dive 2 was very similar to the first dive except the dolphins had moved on but was replaced by Whale Song which was playing throughout their experience.
