The Boiler was absolutely incredible this morning. We were lucky enough to do three dives, and there were so many close encounters with oceanic manta rays. Interactions with these large animals are unbelievable. They gracefully swim up to you and make eye contact as they swim circles around you. In between manta moments (three mantas on the first dive, four on the second dive, and two on the third), we were able to hang out with dolphin that loved being the center of attention. It would pause vertically in front of a diver and make direct eye contact. It would slowly descend and see if it could trick you into following it down into the depths. There were also a few hammerheads, Galapagos, silver tip, and white tip reef sharks. Today was a wonderful welcome back to the Socorro Islands.
