Captain’s Noon Reports – Gallant Lady – 2024-03-22

Today Gallant Lady is anchored in front of Bonanza beach on the south-east side of Espiritu Santo. Wind is from the north 10-15 kts, sunny skies, 1′ chop, air temp 27C.

We had a great afternoon yesterday on the beach at El Corralito, Espiritu Santo including picnic, kayaking and a big pitcher of margaritas. Once everyone was back onboard, we started heading for El Saltito but after passing through San Lorenzo and feeling the NE swell, we decided to come tuck in at Bonanza.

Beautiful anchorage here and sheltered from the wind and swell today for the most part. Had a great morning paddling before the wind breezed up and after a paddle Dave showed up and found a megapod of common dolphins, so we got everyone in the rhib and they spent a good hour running along with the pod of dolphins just a half mile off from where we are anchored.

Dave spotted a blue whale as well but a little too far, but heading in this general direction so we might have a go at finding it this afternoon. Also plan to take them down to Suwanee for a snorkel there this afternoon.

Tonight, we’ll head to anchor outside la Paz channel and transfer guests in the morning at the Api Malecon. Guests are happy and had a great morning.
