Captain’s Noon Reports – Under Sea – 2024-04-02

NUS Anchored at 18°46.6N-110°54.6W, 90ft depth, Cape Pearce, Socorro Island, sky is partly cloudy, air temperature 70°F, weather north wind 20 knots and waves 4/6 ft the same direction.

This morning two dives were made with Visibility of 80ft, water temperature 77°F, and very light current to the southeast.

Very good action with at least 8 different manta rays, 5 at once and at the end of the second dive a group of divers when they were making a safety stop, some Dolphins appeared, and behind the Dolphins two Humpback Whales, mother and calf who stayed with them for a while.

Everyone was very happy. We planned two more dives in the afternoon and guests were waiting to see the whale on the next dives.
