Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2024-05-13

NEX is anchored at Roca Partida today. 0.16nm to the east of the rock. Wind is currently NW 15-19kts with NW swell 4-6′. Sky clear. Air temp 26C. Water temp 25C. Viz underwater is a blue 25m.

We had a great day at Cabo Pearce yesterday, especially the morning dives. A little quieter in the afternoon but overall, a great day at Pearce. Made the decision yesterday afternoon to come out to Roca. Although the forecast was borderline, all the guests wanted to go for it and swell forecast was reasonable.

Ride overnight was ok and conditions so far here have been ok, although the seas are picking up with the wind here this afternoon.

First two dives today were excellent. Pod of friendly dolphins on the first dive with some dolphins going around to visit each diver, also a manta cruising around, lots of silver tips, big tunas, and school of wahoo. Trying to get two more dives in here today then we’ll head back to San Benedicto for our last day tomorrow.
