Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2024-05-18

NEX anchored near the Canyon. Wind is northerly 10-15kts, we have some westerly and swell coming into the anchorage, sky partly cloudy, air temp 27C, water temp 23C, viz around 12-15m.

Valentina and Rocio Del Mar were both here when we arrived last night but have both left to go dive the Boiler.

We did checkout dive at Fondeadero which was excellent. A manta, some hammerheads and silver-tips were around. 2nd dive at the Canyon was just as good, lots of sharks including hammers, Galapagos, silver-tips, a couple giant mantas as well.

Viz a little lower at the Canyon due to the swell rolling in and stirring up the ash. Guests happy though. So far plan for tomorrow is dive the Boiler, then probably head to Roca after tomorrow.
