Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2024-05-21

Explorer is anchored at Cabo Pearce today along with the Southern Sport and Rocio del Mar. Wind is light northerly, 2′ swell, clear skies and warm. Air temp 28C, water temp 25C, viz 25m, current mild.

We had an ok day at Roca Partida yesterday, nothing too crazy but nice. Due to the relatively slow dive day at RP, we ran overnight to Cabo Pearce and arrived to find 2 boats here, so we got the 0900, 1200 and 1500 slots. A

After our 3rd dive we’ll head to the navy base then up to Tosca area for tomorrow. Diving has been really good here at Pearce. Really nice conditions topside and underwater, several mantas around on both dives plus dolphins on the second dive for everyone.

Everyone came up really happy after dive 2, and as we were heading back to the Explorer we noticed a big pod of false killer whales a little offshore, so we got everyone in the 3 skiffs and headed out. They were moving fast and we ended up pretty far south but all the guests had 2 good jumps with them and everyone got to see them underwater on both jumps.
