Captain’s Noon Reports – Under Sea – 2024-05-21

NUS Anchored 18°59.4N-112°04.8W, in 240ft depth, Roca Partida, a cloudy day, air temperature 76°F, a pleasant breeze of 5 knots from the northwest and waves of 6ft long period in the same direction.

Two Dives were done this morning with good cooperation from a large family of Dolphins on the first dive and tons of Whitetip Sharks, some silvertips, and Galapagos.

On the second dive the Dolphins disappeared, the visibility on the east side was 80ft while the west side of 40 ft, water temperature 75°F and light current to the west, thermocline reported at 60ft depth, cold and murky water.

Yesterday on Isla Socorro in afternoon dive before doing the Navy Inspection at the Aquarium was the Hero of the day cooperating with 4 friendly manta rays…just like old times.

Today we are sharing the Rock with NBA. Plan for tomorrow, Isla San Benedicto, Boiler, Punta Norte, Cuevitas.
