Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2024-06-07

Today the NEX is anchored at Punta Tosca in Socorro Island. Weather is excellent for diving, sunny, warm (27°C), gentle breeze from NW (5 Kt), scattered clouds.

We have done 2 dives in this site. The first one was ok, a little slow but the divers could see a manta, a couple of silver tip sharks, some white tip reef sharks. a ray laying among the rocks. and tons of colorful fish. Visibility has been good, about 20 m. Slow current going SW, gentle. a little surging but not too bad.

The second dive was better, the guests could see 4 mantas, they were interacting with the diver for the whole dive, that was excellent. Also, they saw one hammerhead shark passing by. And numerous fishes all everywhere.

The guests are really enjoying the day, we still have one more dive today before going to the Navy Base for the inspection. Now they are having lunch.
