Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2024-06-08

The NEX is anchored on the east side of Roca Partida. Weather is good, choppy seas, waves are 2 – 4 ft high but swells are about 7 ft. Coming from N. Sky has been overcast the whole morning, but air temperature has been nice (26°C) and wind blowing from NNW about 10 – 12 Kt.

We have done 2 dives during the morning. The first one started at 7:00 in the morning. It was a little slow but pretty. The diver saw a manta passing by the dive site, also lots of jacks and reef fish all around the pinnacle. The white tip reef sharks were there laying on the balconies as usual and the lobsters among them. They could also see silver tips shark patrolling the rock, and a couple of black tip sharks.

The second dive was pretty much the same than the first one, but they couldn’t see the manta again. But the rock is full of life with tons of colorful fish. The visibility was excellent, about 25 m. Water temperature was 24°C. low current going eastward and some surging.

The guests are loving the experience of diving in here, they are happy so far.
