Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2024-06-15

Hola amigos, NEX is at Roca Partida. Today’s weather is nice, calm seas but big swells about 4 – 6 ft. high, gentle breeze from NNW about 6 Kt. sky partially cloudy. air temperature around 27°C.

We have done 2 dives so far.

The first one was good, conditions are excellent for diving. The guests saw a big school of bonito passing around the pinnacle, they also saw many white tips shark laying on the balconies of the rock, a couple of Galapagos shark, some of the divers saw a mobula at the distance. And a big fat tuna, chasing the bonito school.

On the second dive, the divers saw the same school of bonito, lots of white tips sharks, a big Galapagos shark, and tons of fish all over the area.

Conditions under the water were outstanding, excellent visibility, about 25 m. Slow current going eastward, water temperature was 24°C (better than yesterday, 21°C).

Yesterday, in our last dive, the last group coming out of the water, saw a whale shark in El Boiler. It was a big male interacting with the divers for a while.
