Captain’s Noon Reports – Belle Amie – 2024-07-31

Belle Amie is at Bahia de LA today. Wind has been mostly calm today but currently SE 15kts, seas 1ft, sky clear. Air temp 32C.

We had a great day diving at SPM yesterday and a smooth overnight run to Bahia. Arriving this morning we saw 3 thresher sharks breaching very close to the Belle Amie and big pods of common dolphins all over the place.

The guests went out for two rounds of whale shark snorkelling starting at 0900 and had too many whale sharks to count. They were surrounded by whale sharks the whole morning, more than 20. The afternoon had many whale sharks as well plus schooling mobulas.

Water temp 27-28 at surface. Viz a little low with all the krill and plankton in the water, 5-10m. Now we will do one afternoon dive at Punta don Juan and depart after dinner to SPM for our second day there and last day of diving for the trip.
