Thousands of schooling hammerheads at Cocos Island.

“Today we got the chance to dive Dirty Rock a second time, after the epic dive we had there on the 2nd day of our Cocos trip. The cleaning station was fully in action and we got plenty of great close encounters with the hammerheads. In addition, there was barely any current so when our DG Celina saw an opportunity to find the famous wall of hammerheads, all of us finned out into the blue trying to find them and we were not disappointed. Within seconds we saw the shadows appearing, which turned into hundreds, and then thousands of hammerheads schooling on the bottom, in the blue, above us, they were literally everywhere which was such a great sight to be able to witness. Without a doubt an experience I’ll never forget.”

“The trip to Cocos island was filled with so much excitement. As someone who had never seen a hammerhead shark before this trip, I felt so lucky and grateful to have such an amazing introduction. The Cocos ocean was incredible and of course did not disappoint. The crew of the Explorer are so professional, kind, alert, and organized. I had such a wonderful time and felt safe and cared for at all times. I would like to thank all the crew for making this trip a truly epic and unforgettable experience.”

“After 120 dives in different sites, it’s my first time in Cocos and the Pacific Ocean. The life and variety is amazing, exciting and surprising. You go in and suddenly many hammerhead sharks approach you, then a group of Jacks, big tunas, Galapagos sharks… and to top it all you see beautiful giant mantas. I can not be more thankful of being able to have had this experience.”
