Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2024-09-08

NEX at anchor deep sounder 88 ft depth, Bahia Chatam Cocos Island. We have good weather inside the bay, wind blowing from SW 4-6 kts. Cloudy and rainy day, air temperature 26 Celcius, sea state inside the bay is calm. Outside the bay we have a little bad weather wind WSW 12-14 kts sea state 3-5 ft.

Yesterday the last dive at the Vikinga and Pajara sites were little light, guest saw some hammer shark but only by passing, many reef fish but relaxing dive. This morning one dive has been done one group in Dirty Rock another group in Manuelita.

Dirty Rock was amazing with good visibility 20-22 mtrs., no current, water temperature 26 Celsius, divers saw big school hammer shark very close to them, many jacks. Other group in Manuelita they saw school from hammer shark they were eating in sandy bottom and oceanic manta ray and one tiger shark passing by and big school of bonitos, divers very happy.

On second dive was good visibility in Manuelita 20-22 mtrs and temp. 26 Celsius they saw some hammerhead sharks, and huge frog fish and white tips bonitos for everywhere, And another group in Dirty Rock have the same opportunity of watching the big bank of hammer sharks that we have been seeing on the south side of the dive site.

Good visibility 20-22 mtrs, our guests continues happy.
