Captain’s Noon Reports – Belle Amie – 2024-09-10

Belle Amie is at SPM. We have really good weather. It is very calm weather early in the morning and it was same yesterday, sky was clear without any cloud, the sea SE 1-2ft, wind up 5kn SE, air temp 36C, air pressure remains 1022mb.

Diving conditions have been very good visibility, around 18m, water temp 28C and current moderate. Yesterday afternoon at San Ildefonso the visibility was also very good. We had three out of four dives as we went to chase orcas. But unfortunately, we were too late to see them, as all divers returned to the boat late.

Before we discharge all the tanks and equipment and get back in the boats orcas finished feasting and disappear. We stopped chasing orcas and skiffs were back to the boat around two pm.

Our guests are, despite losing one dive and “orcas”, very happy. They saw a lot of pipe fish and mantis shrimp’s different species of nudibranch, flatworms, different species of blennies, different species of rays – even five mobula rays, many moray eels, turtles and loads of ornamental reef fishes etc.

Departure from location was earlier than planned. We will have night dive tonight.
