Captain’s Noon Reports – Gallant Lady – 2024-09-13

NGL at anchor at west side of Danzante island ft depth 90 ft 4.5 shots out. There are 2 private yachts at anchor in the area. Weather Conditions Southeast wind 17’20 kts knots gusts 25 kts, Seas 1 ft at anchorage, overcast sky 6/8, air temp 33C.

Yesterday we had to cancel the last dive at La Reyna as the wind and seas increased and became a bit rough and dangerous for guests to embark/disembark the RHIB, also to have the RHIB alongside. We departed la Reyna and started to make our way to Danzante island. As soon as we turn around heading to San Jose Canal, we had the seas on the stern making the way calmer.

This morning, we arrived to Danzante, 2 dives so far. One at Punta Norte which was really great, lot of life, lot of fishes, some diver could saw eagle rays, there no current, temp was 30 C and good viz 10 mts. On second dive was at Punta Gorda, beautiful dive for some guest, lots of fishes, eels, octopus, and a couple of nudibranchs. Planning two more dives for this afternoon. I will keep monitoring the weather forecast for tomorrow’s plan. Planning to stay here for more dives, but if weather calms as is in the forecast, plan to go in the morning to Puerto Balandra for morning dives.
