Captain’s Noon Reports – Belle Amie – 2024-09-24

Belle Amie is currently anchored off Isla Las Animas in 150 feet of water, with 3.5 shackles in the water, positioned about 450 feet from the island. Yesterday evening at 1900 hours, we set our course for Isla Las Animas, adjusting our speed to maintain 900-1200 RPM to conserve fuel. Our arrival was timed perfectly for 0600 this morning.

Water temperatures at depth here range between 27 to 30°C, and visibility is exceptional, reaching nearly 30 meters. The divers were treated to yet another day of remarkable encounters, with the ever-playful sea lions providing lively entertainment. Notably, all four dive groups had the fortune of spotting hammerhead sharks during their explorations.

Yesterday afternoon’s final dives were conducted at Lobera, where visibility was also good, up to 20 meters, though the water was a bit cooler than it is today at Las Animas, peaking at around 27°C.

In summary, the conditions have been favorable for diving both at Isla Coronados and Isla Las Animas, providing a string of successful and enjoyable dives. All aboard Belle Amie are well, and the journey continues smoothly.
