“El Cañón is a place where the magic of the ocean becomes real,” a Dive Guide’s experience

“Diving in Eden: El Cañón, San Benedicto Island.”

Today, the ocean gifted me a day I’ll never forget. Diving in El Cañón, on San Benedicto Island, was an experience that transcended the ordinary. Marine life erupted in a kaleidoscope of color and movement, as if the ocean itself was celebrating my presence.

For 50 minutes, I submerged myself in a dream world, where schools of hammerhead sharks danced in the current, while galapagos and silvertip sharks glided effortlessly across the seafloor. A couple of dozen dolphins joined the party, playing and leaping in the surface. And, as if it were a gift from heaven, five majestic Pacific giant manta rays approached us, their wings spread wide as if flying through the water.

It was like returning to childhood, when everything was new and exciting. Every moment was a surprise, every sight a wonder. El Cañón, on San Benedicto Island, is a place where the magic of the ocean becomes real. And I feel fortunate to have experienced it.
