Captain’s Noon Reports – Explorer – 2025-02-04

NEX at anchor at the Canyon 50 ft depth 2 shots out. Weather: light E´ly wind, 1-2 ft seas. Clear sky. Air temp 23 C.

We arrived this morning to the Canyon and set up everything for dive. We have the whole Canyon just for us. Was a nice morning today as it is flat with very light wind and sunny.

Morning dives has been good, with a lot of sharks at the cleaning station, Galapagos, silkies, silvertips, reef whitetips and some hammerheads, there was a school of 8-10 of them. There were some dolphins in the morning but they just passed quickly. Good water condition, viz 20-25 mts, temp 22C and light current to the East.

For second dive we got more of same as first dive but this time there was one chevron Manta around, same water conditions. Planning to do 2 more dives here then move to the Boiler after dinner.

Yesterday at Roca Partida, we have good dives as in the morning, sharks, mantas and some big tunas. In last dive current got a bit strong. We had dinner there and departed from Roca after dinner. We took guest Evelyn Naudorf to dive between dives with our DG Felipe, they stayed shallow at 10 meters, she could see what Roca Partida has to offer and she was so happy.
