Captain’s Noon Reports – Under Sea – 2025-03-16

San Benedicto. anchor sitting in 55Ft of water with three shots of chain in the water, this morning when we arrived to San Benedicto the wind was doing at least 18kts so I dropped that much chain to make sure we stayed put.

As the day goes by the weather is been giving a little, we have this 3Ft NW swell that wouldn’t let us walk around peacefully as the boat keeps rocking and rolling, clear skies, wind temperature is 72F, ocean is 71F, mild current running to the east.

Check dive was great they say, they had 4 mantas, few Galapagos and silky sharks, also some lucky ones saw a school of hammerhead sharks, the check dive was conducted from the dive platform straight to Leather Bass Alley.

Every trip guests come up from check dive talking about the size and quantity of lobsters we have here, the frustrating thing for me was to see the two HUMPBACK WHALES, mom and calf swimming along so close to the bubbles and to having guests not see them… well such is life, crossing my fingers real tight so they come to us at some point this week.

Second dive was amazing according to some of the guests, the cleaning station in the Canyon was full of sharks, silver tips, Galapagos, silkies, more hammerheads and two very friendly mantas.
