Roca Partida today. Anchored in 245Ft of water is a cloudy day, wind is cold 69F, ocean today is 74F, mild current running to the east, visibility averages 80F.
Huge surge today I was just about to pick some of the guests up and a big swell 14Ft I kid you not, went up and down washing out on the south side of the rock with a scary extension of 60 yards off the rock. Divers say they were engulfed in white bubbling water, they loved it but I lost few years of life, my stomach went in a tight knot while they were having fun down there, I feel like these are my kids….
The dive was good, both dive with mantas, the north corner with few silver tips, couple of Galapagos, silkies, the cloud of horse eyed jacks, cotton mouth and a lot more of the tropical fish.
The balconies with some white tips I guess they prefer to be on the move as they can sit still on the rock because of the big surge, guests keep talking about the size and number of lobsters here.
Even with the surge the boat feels very stable the back deck is not an issue the wind waves and current seem to go in one direction so that the boat is nicely aligned with Mother Nature.
Guests and crew doing well, a lot of the guests are missing dives, they are feeling okay just that they are not the wild divers we normally get, these bunch are here for the fun and good life, eating well, joking around hanging out with friends.
