Captain’s Noon Reports – Under Sea – 2025-06-14

San Benedicto, anchored in 50Ft of water, is a cloudy day, wind from the west (at anchor) doing 12kts, a foot height waves NW. air temperature is 73F, today water is 70F, visibility varies a lot depending on the area you are in and the mild current we have but it averages 60Ft, the current is going to the west.

In our check out dive they saw few sharks and fish; lobster is always the topic for guests to talk about. Second dive at the Canyon went just fine, the cleaning station had all kinds of sharks going around and getting cleaned (Galapagos, silver tips, silkies, some with tips) by the wrasses and clarion angels along with the barber fish.

One of the groups had an incredible sight as a tiger went around them slowly making a loop to then vanished in the blue water. Couple of minutes later they saw another tiger a female bigger than the first one so they know it was a different shark, two tigers one dive.

But what most people liked the most was the hammerhead sharks they kept coming close and made an amazing show as some of them were getting cleaned in the same rock the others were. On the surface we could see the mantas but they haven´t shown in the dives. We had some drizzle in both of the dives.
