Captain’s Noon Reports – Under Sea – 2025-07-25

NUS in position Light South Wind, Calm Seas. Air Temp. 34 C, Clear sky. Hot and sunny day.

We just departed from las Animas 20 min ago and we were heading SW to San Jose Island and already spotted 3-4 fin whales eating. Guests are getting ready to board the pangas and depart to jump in with the fin whales.

We arrived this morning to Las Animas, we did 2 dives there. Everyone liked the sea lions. First dive was in the Moro Norte; we were searching for the hammerheads but visibility below 20 mts was bad 5-8 mts. But there were a lot of different kind of fishes, octopus and sea lions.

Second dive was in la Lobera, was a good dive, visibility wasn’t good 10-15 mts. Lots of playful and chill sea lions, all of different sizes. They had a great morning.

This afternoon we will continue searching for whales in our way to San Francis Quito Island. We will do a night dive there at El Callo and tomorrow morning last dive at la Lobera, then we will start searching south to Espiritu Santo.

Yesterday afternoon we found a pod of common dolphins near Punta coyote, and then we went to Swanee rock for a snorkel. We spotted some more dolphins near Bonanza Bay in Espiritu Santo and some single spread mobulas around,

Seas were like a mirror and we enjoyed a beautiful sunset.
