Captain’s Noon Reports – Under Sea – 2025-08-01

NUS at anchor at San Pedro Martir on 95 ft of water 2 shot out. Wind SE light kts, Cal m Seas. Air Temp. 34 C, clear sky, sunny day.

This morning we arrived to San Pedro Martir at 0700 hrs. and started dive operations at 0800.

We have done 2 dives so far in Los Moros south of San Pedro.

First dive was in Moro 1, Main goal was to find hammerheads. Water was green, viz was like 8 mts, Light current to South. Only a few divers could find hammerheads, like 10 of them, some sea turtles, sea lions, Jawfish, and other reef fishes, most of divers complained about visibility.

Right after finishing the first dive, a pod of dolphins passed by the boat, some divers jumped in the water to see and swim with them, a couple of them stayed for a while but most of them swam away.

Second dive was in Moro 2, Viz was a bit better as sun was stronger and high up, current was still light, some sea lions, sea turtles and reef fishes.

Now we are on the north side of the island, to dive el Arrollo, then we will have a hike to the island and we will finish with a night dive at el corralito. After that we will depart to Bahia de los Angeles.

Yesterday at San Ildefonso dives were ok, not much to see. After picked up anchor and departed from San Idelfonso we spotted a pod of common dolphins swimming along the boat, guests were happy watching them, some said that dolphins were the highlight of the day.
