Captain’s Noon Reports – Under Sea – 2026-03-16

San Benedicto. anchored in 45Ft of water, sunny skies, 12kts N winds, there is a very long period SE swell, 2FT tall so the boat feels very nice. But the shoreline seems to be dealing a bigger force, this swell is stirring the bottom up and visibility is 30ft at the most and it seems to be like this all the way around San Benedicto.

We did the check dive at Leather Bass Alley, they say the first five minutes were not good as visibility is bad and it gets worse the shallower you are but once they gained depth visibility changed and they were able to see stuff, like lobster, Galapagos sharks, and a couple of white tip reef sharks.

Second dive was conducted at the Canyon, and despite the visibility they were now able to see mantas, Galapagos sharks, silver tips, white tips, a dusky shark and many silky sharks, water temperature is 73F, today air is 78F.

Guests are happy to be here, they love the dives and the ocean, very polite and easy-going crowd.

Guests and crew doing well.
