Captain's log : I think this is the first dive this season we didn't see mantas…

Beautiful day here today at San Benedicto (Socorro Island). Sunny and light winds from the NE.
NW’ly swell still up but long enough not to be too bothersome. No other boats here again today.
Yesterday afternoon we did another dive at the Boiler which was pretty quiet, so we moved to the south and tried a drift dive at the SW point. Was really good with 3 or 4 giant mantas around, cruising by and playing.
This morning we tried the Canyon again. Viz was way down from normal but we still all got to watch the dolphins hunting the jacks right along the ridge and at the cleaning station, was really cool. Some people had hammerheads.
After first dive we headed up to the boiler again. This time though no mantas, I think the first dive this season we didn’t have mantas there. Viz was low as well. So we’ve now moved to the North point of San Benedicto to try one here.
Conditions look better and we saw a couple mantas at the surface so looks promising. This evening will head to Cabo Pearce for one day tomorrow then off to Roca Partida to end the trip.
