On board the Nautilus Explorer we are approaching the lights of Cabo San Lucas on the North bound sailing from Socorro. During the past month Socorro has provided optimal dive conditions with Socorro’s trademark marine life featuring Giant Seagoing mantas, up to eleven species of sharks and of course, June’s famous visitor, the largest fish in the Sea, Whalesharks! With only one more trip to Socorro before the Explorer steams North for its annual refit it is time to start preparing for “End of Season Dives” and “Socorro Good-byes”! It’s a time of mixed emotion onboard. Sad to be leaving Socorro for the season or excited to dive to 30 feet with great white sharks at Guadalupe? Tough call!
