Drat. Finished our Socorro 2014 season with a storm

Captain Mike here.   We finished out our 2014 Socorro season with some awesome diving but also  missed 2 dive days due to a pinche tropical storm.    May and June is unquestionably the best time of year to dive Socorro, San Benedicto and Roca Partida in my opinion.  Generally calm seas.   Nice warm water.   Kick butt diving.   Sights that we don’t see otherwise such as schooling silky sharks and pilot whales.   The only downside is that up to 1 storm a month might roll through – especially in a El Nino year like this one.  Siggh.    So our guests waited and spent 1 and a bit dive days diving Cabo San Lucas before we getting clearance from the local Port Captain and immediately making tracks for Socorro.   I think Mother Ocean smiled on us as our guests were rewarded with 12 TWELVE giant manta rays waiting for everyone at El Boiler, San Benedicto.  Sad to say that our Socorro season is wrapped but exciting that Guadalupe great white sharks are just around the corner!!
