It’s Hammerhead Madness at the Moment

It’s hammerhead madness at the moment in the Revillagigedo Archipelago!

There are sharks everywhere on The Canyon and it appears that the majority of them are sitting around a thermocline around 20m. There are also lots of Galapagos and silvertip sharks at the cleaning station that it’s actually hard to decide which way to look.

Over the last few days we have been there, female hammerhead sharks have been coming onto the cleaning station as well as, schooling above and around the dive site. In particular, it is really enjoyable to observe the sharks closely around the cleaning station as they are more relaxed and move slowly around us. We recommended to our divers to breathe relaxed and slowly so that we can entice the sharks to come closer and remain relaxed. It really is a unique and exciting encounter.
