I Was Looking at a Humpback Whale

What a magical day it’s been here at Socorro Island. We have been especially lucky at Punta Tosca with all the amazing marine life interactions.

On the first dive, we jumped in the water and were immediately greeted by a friendly dolphin that seemed so happy to see us. As we descended, we encountered a school of about six hammerhead sharks; they didn’t come super close but the visibility of the water was excellent so we managed to get a pretty good view of them. As we went further out, I saw a massive shadow looming in the distance. I couldn’t tell what it was but once I got a little closer, I soon realized I was looking at a humpback whale – it was a truly magical moment.
