A great way to start off another trip. We had so many hammerhead sharks today at The Canyon in San Benedicto. It was totally crazy. We went down on the first dive and not even a minute into it, a school of around 20 hammerhead sharks showed up and did a few tight laps around the group. Then we swam to the cleaning station and even more hammerhead sharks showed up as well as a lot of Galapagos and silvertip sharks.
On the last dive of the day, magic happened. We were enjoying the sharks on the cleaning station and all of a sudden, I spotted something in the distance… a school of around 50 hammerhead sharks rolled in. They came so close to us it was amazing. It was strange how fearless they were compared to how skittish they normally are. Now I’m curious to see what the rest of the trip will bring us.
