Today Roca Partida was on fire! There were so many sharks of all different shapes, sizes and species. We had close encounters with whitetip reef sharks, silky sharks, Galapagos sharks, silvertip sharks, hammerhead sharks and even two whale sharks!
On the last dive, the shark action really picked up and as the sun was setting down, a school of skipjacks came close to the rock, followed by seven silky who were chasing them. That movement caught the attention of four Galapagos sharks who were cruising a bit deeper and they swam up, along with a hammerhead shark to join the party. It was epic to see the bonitos flying, and the sharks going into a frenzy over them. Even if they could not get any as they are too fast! As the bait ball left, some of the Galapagos sharks, excited by the action, came very close to the divers. That was amazing! Then a whole bunch of 200lbs yellowfin tuna joined us at the safety stop. A magical day at Roca Partida!
