Another Day of Underwater Surprises

The Canyon has been on fire this trip. We are encountering an enormous amount of fish, dolphins and manta rays. But the highlight is the resident school of scalloped hammerhead sharks. There is a mixed bunch, some are smaller than your average whitetip reef shark and some are big fat ladies with bulky bodies. The Canyon is one of the only sites where we can see the hammerhead sharks in groups over the reef and as we descend above the rocks and breath as silently as possible we can sometimes get the hammers swimming even over us. It’s such a thrill and we have a bunch of very happy divers onboard! Off to Cabo Pearce we sail for another day of underwater surprises.
