Captain’s Noon Reports – Gallant Lady – 2022-02-07

Location: La Paz

Weather: Clear Skies, N Wind (10-15kts), N Swell (1-2ft)

Last night we had a very nice overnight transit, arriving near Mogote at 0730. They were back around 1130 after a great time with the whale sharks, a lot of whale sharks around, and some great in-water encounters with them as they fed in the shallow waters near El Mogote.

Because of the forecast, Espiritu Santo was closed to small boats leaving from La Paz, so instead, we anchored on the south side of San Rafaelito and took some people diving there with the sea lions and a couple of others who wanted to go ashore we took into a beach that is just adjacent to San Rafaelito. Everyone enjoyed it very much, and the reptile buff onboard loved this beach, he found some cool lizards and went in around sunset again looking for some night reptiles. Just finished steak and lobster dinner and now everyone is playing cards and having some drinks.

Water temperature: 66°F

Visibility: 100ft+
