Captain’s Noon Reports – Gallant Lady- 2022-10-15

Location: Punta Perico

Weather: Clear Skies, WNW Wind (10-15kts), Swell (2-3ft)

We had planned to make our way further north overnight toward Ceralvo, but this morning we encountered winds well in excess of the forecast blowing from the west. We wouldn’t have been able to enjoy ourselves at all at La Reina so we decided to turn back to anchor just south of Punta Perico. We anchored up around 0930 and started to prep for our first dive.

We were able to jump right from the back deck over a bottom at about 60 feet. The group had some kinks to work out with weights and other equipment, but they seemed to get things dialed during the dive and everybody came up pretty pleased with things. There were a few eels spotted as well as a good assortment of reef fishes. We are planning two more dives here today and then we will either remain at anchor until late or get underway and rush north. destination for tomorrow is Espiritu Santo. Skiffs are alreeady arranged and the forecast looks good for now.

Water temperature: 85°F

Visibility: 50-60ft
