It’s a diver’s dream come true!
I have been wanting to scuba dive in Socorro Island, Mexico since 2010 when underwater film pioneer Stan Waterman invited me.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t at the time because I was in graduate school. Now, 14 years later, my dream finally became true.
Today was our second day diving. It was another epic day, filled with incredible magical encounters with gorgeous creatures: graceful giant manta rays, playful dolphins, schools of hammerhead sharks, tiny nudibranches, while whales sang in the background.
The Nautilus team made it safe and possible to experience the wonders beneath the sea. If there is such a thing as perfection, then mother nature showed us how each animal evolved to perfection to thrive in their environment.
While gazing into the oceanic manta’s gentle eyes, time stopped, nothing else in the world mattered to me. It was perfect.
