Best Diving in Mexico: Socorro

Have you ever wondered where you can find the best diving spots in Mexico?

We have heard many times from more than one of our guests saying that the best diving in Mexico is in Socorro, and not only do we agree with them, but we also have more than one testimonial that supports this information.

The Revillagigedo Islands are full of marine life that is increasingly active and interacts more and more with all our guests and crew, leaving everyone speechless but with memories that last a lifetime.

It is also true that the waters of Socorro are the perfect place for scuba diving, both for experts and for those who are just starting out in this activity. Accompanied by our expert dive guides, they manage to have unique experiences!

First dive at Fondadero, with the support of the amazing divers on board, who helped making this experience possible got to dive in between dives and experienced an ineffable live lasting dive. Jaime and Xavi took me to the perfect spot where got to see so many ocean life, lots of fish and so so many sharks! white tip, galapagos, humongous school of hammer heads and tiger shark! Not many words needed to describe the joy of this day.

I have dived all over the world in the last 25 years. This dive trip in Socorro on the Nautilus Belle Amie has been one of my favorite liveaboard trips. Why?
First, the diving has been superb. In the space of a few days, we have seen a huge variety of sharks: Galapagos sharks, silky sharks, oceanic black tips, white tip reef sharks, and hammerheads. We have dived with oceanic mantas and black mantas, dolphins, schooling hammerheads, huge schools of yellowfin tuna and all kinds of crazy sea life.

Second, not only are the Captain, crew and guides knowledgeable but they are super helpful, friendly and are a tight knit group who work together to provide the best service possible, with the biggest smiles ever. They knew exactly where to drop us in the water to get the most out of our dives. The Captain is hilarious and is fully involved in this operation, making sure everyone has the best experience possible on the Nautilus Belle Amie. I have thoroughly loved diving with the dive guides. My personal favorite dive experience was watching our guide, Juan David, gently communicate with an oceanic manta ray, while she paused to acknowledge him and responded to his communication, swimming in closer to him. A magical moment.

The food is phenomenal – extremely tasty, plentiful and varied. Well done, Chef! Again, probably some of the best food I have ever eaten on a liveaboard (of which I have done many). The crew are extremely helpful and cannot do enough for you. Carmen and Chris are outstanding at providing a first class service.

Finally, safety is an absolute priority on this boat. The entire staff work so hard to make sure that the trip is not only enjoyable but 100 percent safe. This made me feel completely at ease and confident despite being in a remote part of the Pacific Ocean. The boat is also extremely comfortable and spacious, and so you never feel that it is cramped or crowded.

If I could, I would be here every other month to join the guys for a dive trip. Alas, reality beckons and I need to go back to a humdrum City life. But I am certain I will be back to dive here again with the Nautilus Belle Amie.

Muchas gracias everyone for a fantastic dive trip!
